Garett took me up to Yellowstone with him and his family for a couple of days to camp. I did not know the proposal was happening up there. Garett took me to the Yellowstone rive the day we were leaving back to Utah. We walked down by the river and took some pictures together and held hands and walked a little. He then grabbed on to me and told me that he wanted to take some different kind of pictures. All I remember is that Garett looked so nervous. It took him some time to propose, but he looked at me and he then got down on one knee and asked if I would marry him. And I did say "yes", and then I looked at him as the most gorgeous ring was still sitting in the box, and I asked him..."are you gonna put that on my finger or am I?" We both started laughing, and he got up and kissed me. And then we took some more fun pictures with the ring! On the way back to utah, we did talk about our relationship and the mission, and I told him I was gonna go on a few dates to make sure this was right, and that he needs to focus on his mission for the next two years. We had a rough chat but we both came to an agreement.
This first year of his mission was so hard for me, and I did date quite a bit. But in the end I got my answer confirmed and now wedding plans are on there way and I couldn't be happier.
Garett is now home from his mission. He returned home last September 2010, and we started dating right away. We did push back the wedding to February 12th, but now that is suddenly just around the corner. We were a success story!!!!
